Laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery (Fundoplication)
Laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery (Fundoplication)

Laparoscopic fundoplication is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), a condition where stomach acid flows back into the oesophagus, causing symptoms such as heartburn, regurgitation, and sometimes swallowing difficulties. It may also be recommended for certain hiatal hernias.

Using small keyhole incisions, Dr Chhabra gently wraps the top of your stomach around the lower oesophagus to strengthen the valve that keeps stomach acid where it belongs.

Laparoscopic fundoplication can greatly improve or completely resolve reflux symptoms, reducing the need for long-term medication and improving quality of life.

Dr Chhabra will discuss the procedure in detail, explain what to expect during recovery, and answer any questions so you feel confident and prepared.
